Semi-Automated Radio Shuttle Pallet Racking System for Heavy Duty Storage
A shuttle is a cart or sled that moves stored items onto pallet racks. Shuttles run on rails and allow for a denser storage system so that space can be maximized with it. Shuttle racking saves time by eliminating the need for manually operated forklifts to move up and down the aisles, reducing the risk to warehouse workers, machinery and the pallet racking itself. The shuttle car is battery-powered, which helps reduce emissions in your warehouse. The storage system comes complete with a battery, charger, and remote control, and they ensure 16 hours of operations and reduced charging times.
This type of system is best suited to warehouses where large numbers of pallets are loaded and unloaded frequently, such as cold storage, meat processing and food and beverage distribution. However, it is not useful for distribution centers that store multiple items per pallet and along each aisle.
Remotely controlled, shuttle racks are a more efficient and secure way to manage warehouse pallet inventory. This system can help maximize the use of available space in your warehouse or distribution facility and make daily operations more streamlined.

How do Radio Shuttle Racking Systems Work?
Shuttle shelving systems work using either a first-in-first-out (FIFO) configuration or a last-in-first-out (LIFO) configuration. Which method is used depends on whether there are aisles at both ends or only one end of the aisle. The Shuttle shelving system is operated by remote control, radio signals or WiFi.
The operator simply passes the command to the shuttle, which picks up the entire pallet and transports it to the next available space on the shelf using the integrated track. The vertical track at the end of the aisle also allows the shuttle to move up and down, so that absolutely no space is wasted.
