Wire mesh decks are the ideal pallet rack attachment for individuals who want to store products safely in a pallet racking system. Pallet rack wire decks enhance safety by providing a rack deck wire surface, whereas open wire mesh permits open access to water from sprinklers in the event of a fire. Wire Decks Specifications

Deck Options

1. Outside waterfall deck. This is a conventional design in which the wire is wrapped around the outside of the beam but the support underneath is on a step on the inside of the beam.

2. Invert the river deck. Wire wrap is also used on the exterior of the beam, but the bracing below is inverted (as opposed to a regular deck) so that it does not open out to the top. This design is frequently utilized in food storage and other cleaning applications.

3. Waterfall deck. The interior of the beam provides for an unobstructed surface, and the wire cover and access are positioned on the inside steps of the beam. To keep the panel from falling, Tek screws are used to bond the front and back of the panel.

4. Flush deck. The inside waterfall deck is similar but without curved edges.

5. Upturned deck. Waterfalls facing the back beam serve as a stop for pallets or cartons.

1. Determine the length of each pallet rack beam.

2. Measure from the outside of one end of the post to the outside of the other end of the same post from front to back.

3. Determine the breadth of the beam's top.

4. Take a measurement of the depth of your beam steps. (Not necessary for a box or structural beams.)

5. Determine whether or not there are any point loads. The wire cover is UDL-rated (Uniform Load Distribution). If there is some load or if the pallet is put on the deck rather than the beam, the wire deck must be constructed to support the condition.
