Industrial Wire Mesh Decking for Pallet Racking and Shelving Storage System
Wire mesh has developed as an integral part of selective pallet racking and shelving storage systems. Historically, many businesses used plywood supported by metal support bars or timber bars. However, building codes and fire regulations have evolved and wire mesh is now the preferred standard.

Advantages of Wire Mesh Decking:
►Allows maximum light and air circulation
►Easy to install - fits beams
►Allows air and water flow
►Suitable for cartons and irregular-sized goods
There are many types of wire mesh decking available to suit specific system designs:
♦Drop-in meshes are specifically designed for use on shelves with stepped beams, so the mesh either falls flush with the edge of the shelf or only the wire mesh waterfalls in front and behind.
♦Flared wire mesh is usually suitable for all types of beams (box or step) as the support bars extend to the top of the beam and this style of mesh always has a waterfall front and rear edge.
♦Both of these styles can also be made with what is often referred to as 'food grade' bracing bars. The support bars are welded to the mesh to ensure that water, dirt, or other substances that fall on the mesh do not become trapped on the bars and fall off to the floor below for cleaning.
♦Surface finishes are also important, the two most common being a galvanized finish or powder coating. Preferences are usually determined by the storage environment. Galvanised sheet mesh is best suited to cold or wet storage or outdoor storage. Powder-coated nets are becoming popular as powder-coating systems are being incorporated into production lines and are popular if the color preference is important.
♦Weight capacity is also a design consideration and most wire mesh is designed to support a minimum Uniform Distributed Load (UDL) of 2500 lbs. However, it is very important to note that the grid weight carrying capacity must be calculated as part of the overall system which includes the upright frame and beams as well as the shelf height of the storage system.
♦Bespoke shelving solutions are also available to meet the specific requirements of the products being stored. Storage of carpets and linoleum, storage of furniture, and storage of products all require specific shelving.
