Teardrop Warehouse Pallet Racks suitable for 40"x48" US standard pallets
Teardrop warehouse pallet racks suitable for 40"x48" US standard pallets is the most common type of pallet racking used in warehouse storage and distribution centers across the United States. Teardrop pallet racking is another name for roll-formed selective pallet racking, which is commonly manufactured in the teardrop style (nicknamed because the holes in the uprights are shaped like teardrops).
The tray then rests on a horizontal load beam, held in place by mounting clips. As the clips on the teardrop configuration can be quickly removed, the shelves can be adjusted to different heights or reinforced to carry different weights to suit different load sizes.

Permits for warehouse racking systems
If you are going to build a warehouse pallet racks suitable for 40"x48" US standard pallets or cantilever rack system in your facility, it’s advisable and regulated to get some permits so as to ensure the safety of both cargo and staff and put your new racking system into use as quickly as possible. Especially for heavy-duty or high-bay racking systems which belong to large-scale projects, requirements are more strict.
Although the process of obtaining relevant permits seems complicated, Ironstone is able to help you acquire proper permits smoothly and quickly. Generally speaking, two kinds of permits are actually required: building permits and fire permits.
Building permits examine the material and structure of the racking system to assess its quality and stability. Because of different geographic conditions, building codes for warehouse rack systems vary from district to district. However, all of our racks are made of high-quality steel and of sturdy structure which can pass the test of the permitting authority easily, so it is no need to worry about that if you choose our racks.
Fire permits pertain to the fire-fighting system in the racking system. There should be enough vertical space left for the sprinkler system and an adequate amount of sprinklers. The permitting authority will measure the distance between products and the ceiling, and assess the flammability of stored products to determine the adequacy of the sprinkler system.
We will help you gain permits for the warehouse storage racking system from the following steps:
1) Draw CAD drawings
It is necessary to draw CAD drawings of your facility indicating accurate dimensions and specific locations of warehouse racks as well as correlative accessories. With these drawings, the general condition of the racking system in your warehouse, such as layout and sizes, is clearly shown. If you don’t have the CAD drawings, we are willing to help you with that.
2) Make Seismic Calculation
The seismic calculation is extremely important for guaranteeing the stability of the racking system. Particularly in earthquake-prone areas, there must be enough precautions against earthquakes in the system and the maximum load placed per bay should be accurately calculated.
3) Obtain an initial permit
We will help you prepare the necessary documents required by the local government when applying for the initial permit for the racking system. With the initial permit, you can begin to install your racks. And we can send an experienced engineer to help with the installation to make the racking system conform to the local codes.
4) Gain the final permit
The permitting authority requires certification from a third professional testing company which proves that your racking system was installed and anchored properly. And then, they will perform a final inspection by themselves. If your racking system meets all requirements, you will get the final permit which means the warehouse rack system is ready for use at this point.
Our racks have passed the tests from professional testing institutions and have been proven to meet the strictest RMI standard in the U.S., as well as the AS4084-2012 standard in Australia. Besides, we are experienced in gaining permits for warehouse storage rack systems. So if you choose us, you don’t have to worry. Trust us and our service will satisfy your demands.
