Large Capacity Heavy Duty Drive-In Pallet Racking System For Similar Product Storage
Heavy duty drive-in pallet rack is very cost-saving with high cubic space utilization targeting at high volume products with less SKUs. Compared to standard pallet rack, the storage density can increase over 75%. The storage bays at the same time are forklift operating aisles inside the rack structure greatly reducing the space waste.
The drive-in racking allows for Last-in/First-out material handling principle with its special drive-in structure. In that case, products with large quantities and less types are more suitable.

The Working Procedures
Placing: forklifts with pallet loads drive into the rack bay deep position carefully ⇒ Placing the loads on the support rails precisely ⇒ Forklifts then back out of the rack structure slowly. The storage process occurs from inside to outside in each storage lane.
Picking: forklift will have to lift its fork to the proper height and pick the specified pallet off the rails, then deliver it to certain points.
In drive-in racking system, the stock can be well managed since each lane can store one kind of single SKU product.
Drive-in Rack Structures and Major Components
Upright frame
As the major portion, upright frames containing columns and bracings can be powder coated or galvanized of various sections and dimensions applicable to customers' peculiar storage demands.
Pallet rail
Metal horizontal pallet rails support loads with 4 to 7 storage levels in each bay.
Top beam
At the upper level of the racks, top beams are used to connect adjacent frames creating solid storage lanes and bays.
Top bracing and back bracing
Top bracing and back bracing all work to strengthen the structure's stability.
Corbels
Corbels secured to uprights can be divided into single-sided and double-sided bearing the weight distributed from pallet rails.
Ground guide rails
Ground guide rails, just like the ones used in VNA racking, are steel safety components installed on the ground aiming to separate forklifts from racks.
Pallet entry guides and backstops
At the beginning of each storage lane, flared metal-designed entry guides are fixed for smooth and convenient bay access. At the end of each pallet lane, pallet back stops are also indispensable for stopping loads from being pushed off the rails.
Upright protector
Drive in pallet racking system is very compacted with denser storage position layouts that the forklift has to move back and forth along the lanes. There are great chances that vehicles may hit the racks increasing possible accidents. To deal with that, upright protectors are engineered to the column front for collision prevention.
Drive in pallet racking system is widely used in food, beverage, diary and tobacco storage and also chemical and garment industry.
